Fireworks Not Permitted at Emerald Point

As we approach the holiday season, we would like to remind everyone that fireworks are strictly prohibited within the Emerald Point community.

While fireworks may be a traditional part of celebration, they pose serious risks in our lakefront environment:

• Fireworks can cause damage to boats, boat covers, docks, and surrounding property.
• The proximity of fireworks to vessels and dry storage areas presents a significant fire hazard.
• Noise from fireworks can be distressing to pets and disrupt the peace of the community.

Please also be advised that North Carolina law (N.C. Gen. Stat. § 14-414) prohibits the use of most aerial and exploding fireworks by individuals without a proper permit. Possession or use of illegal fireworks is a misdemeanor offense in the state.
